I didn't get in but congratulations to you and others.  I wish you and others who got in all the best. I will end up going to another school that accepted me because I applied to several schools. I will however be at Collin still but as an adjunct in another subject.  I love teaching and I also want to become a nurse so both areas will be my career.

Hi I found this and wanted to check in to see how is it going for the LVNs that are currently in the program. I was accepted into the program for the fall and would like to know what can I do to prepare myself? I'm very afraid of dosage cal .

Hey! It's going great so far! If you want to start working on dosage calculations you can. It also helps to know about nursing care plans, and concept maps. Preparing for how to take vitals-Bp, respiratory rates, pulse etc is really great. Knowing about nursing theories and the history nursing are all things you can Google and will help you to be informed. Congratulations and you've got this 💗

Thank you so much for this ! 🫶🏾💕What are the rounding rules for dosage calculations? I saw that different programs have their own rules.

I could share what the dosage calc rounding rules are today and it could be different for the program tomorrow. I would focus on learning dimensional math and units of measure for medication admin. Most problems tell you when to round.

Not sure if anyone has asked this in any other forum, but what is Collins' policy on acrylic nails and eyelashes? My friend's school said they can have really short nails as long as they are French or natural tone colors. No lashes.
