Collin College ADN Summer 2018

I was there at 9 am as well

Can anyone answer? I took the psb twice. Will they take the higher of each section? So let's say I made an 80 on spelling the first time and 75 the second time, will they take the highest score per section? If so, does that mean you would submit both psb's?

Oh cool! How did you do? I believe you can only submit one PSB exam result, whichever you want to use as long as there was only one exam taken per admission cycle and within 12 months.

You can only take it once a semester so if you took it twice I'm not sure what they will do. If you took it once in the summer and then just took it, I believe they will take whichever one you submit. I don't believe you can mix and match the scores.

I took it last cycle and was waitlisted, so I took it again, this cycle. They said they would take the highest of the scores, but still not sure how that works.

You could be higher on one sectio from the first time you take it and vice versa. So do you just guess at which one overall is better than the other or do certain subjects matter more?

I would email Cathleen and ask her what you should do. I did better in all subjects the second time so I'm not really any help. So sorry!

Hello guys. I'm new on this forum but I read it a lot since I started this journey at Collin college. I gave my application to Mrs Rangel yesterday and I alreadysee that as an achievement (at least a small one). She opened the envelope and checked if I was good. I got my all my prereq and coreq with a 4 gpa in one attempt and finally reached a decent psb score after many tries. Everything above 90 but reading, 80.

It's my first application so we will see.

I will be turning my application in as soon as grades post and I get a transcript. I just finished nutrition and I am now core complete. I had to take the PSB twice but finally got all above 90th percentile except 86th in spelling. Hopefully we will see each other this summer. Good luck!

Hello everyone,

These threads are really amazing. I will be applying for the Summer 2018 semester as well. Although I am hopeful for acceptance, I really have my sights set on Fall 2018. I attended an information session with Cathleen, and she looked over my PSB results and said. "I do not know how your grades are, but IF you don't get in it will be due to your PSB score. But, apply anyway. Whats the worst they can say? No? :)" She is really a sweet lady.

It was my mistake for assuming that the PSB exam was similar to a Hesi exam I took earlier in 2017. (I did not study for either entrance exam or else I would have known the difference) I had 4 hours to complete 4 sections on the Hesi, and the PSB was such a race on the first section. (lol) All of the other sections are doable in the allotted time.

I will be submitting my application with:

AP I- A

AP II- in progress

Microbiology- A

(I completed Chem with an A)

PSB

AA- 46

SP- 92

RC- 96

INS- 90

VAI- 98

Cathleen also said that only 3 people were accepted in Fall 2017 with pre-reqs 'in progress', and the summer is very competitive. Sooooooooooo I'm hopeful, but I will be prepping for the PSB exam next time with all the study guides that have been posted!

I heard the same thing about not many people being accepted with science courses in progress. I'm hoping for summer even though it's more competitive. This will be my second time applying. I made the same mistake you did the first time around with the PSB so if you have to take it again, just go as fast as you can and I'm sure you will do better on the AA section.

I'm taking my application over next week. I was waiting on my transcript from Collin after Fall grades posted and just got it. Who else is applying for Summer?

Thanks for the advice. I am going to take my application on the 8th because that's when my school opens back up, and I can get my transcript.

I was going to take my remaining classes at Collin, but Cathleen said it didn't matter. Although, after reading a couple of these threads some people are under the impression it does matter.
