college network question...

Nursing Students LPN-RN

Published

Hello all,

I am enrolled in college network and have been sent all of my books, materials etc. The problem is that I kinda jumped in while I was still in LPN school and wasn't working. So now I am like 4 months behind on my college network tuition payments ( I pay as I go through one of the credit unions that they offer). They are threatening to send my loan to collections. I was wondering if that does happens before I am able to pay it, will that affect my being able to enroll into excelsior? Do I need to take my 5 clep prereqs before I can enroll and is it another way to go about it?

Yes I am going to pay them asap because I have just started working. But it may be too late if they send me to collections. I want to call and discuss this with them but I know that they are going to say "yes your chances will be ruined" because they want me to hurry up and send the money.

Thanks for any input.

College network has nothing to do with excelsior college, I don't see how not paying your loan with the college network materials could interfere with enrolling to the college. You may take the first exam without enrolling to Excelsior. You can't take the other Excelsior exams until you enroll and pay their fees.

The college network is a publishing company only that sells you the study modules. If it goes to collections it will blemish your credit, but does not have anything to do with going to excelsior. Above poster stated you can take 1st test before enrolling then you have to enroll to continue testing in the nursing portion. If you have gen ed's that you are gonna clep you can do them anytime as those also are not directly to EC the results can be sent anywhere you want. Congrats on passing boards and getting your 1st nursing job. Good luck.

Referring your case to a collection agency is expensive for them. If they haven't done so yet, call them and figure out a way to start sending them money and work out a payment plan.
