Hey did anyone else apply for COM's Fall 2014 cohort? I am on pins and needles waiting to hear from them. Its my first year applying. Its going to be a very long several weeks for me. I asked how many applicants they received and it was 147. I'm not sure how many they usually get but seems as if its not too overwhelming of a number. I think they take the top 36 applicants with 10 for a wait list. No?
Yeah luckily I got accepted to SSU! But it's nice knowing I got selected for COM anyways. That's so close! Assuming some students with a number lower than yours will (inevitably) not pass the TEAS, and probably 5-10 students will change their mind/ get accepted to other schools, I'd say even if they don't take an extra 10 you still have a very high chance of getting in. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get into your program of choice!!
Thank you mswtruth! I felt like it was a pipe dream going to SSU, so I definitely cried after being admitted. If you applied to 5 schools, I say you're bound to get in some where, and somewhere cheaper than Dominican! I'm sending positive thoughts your way that you get into COM. Looking forward to hearing if you get accepted!

Interesting, I agree with that. I know there's a huge push for nurses to get their BSN opposed to an ADN. I hear hospitals like UCSF will only take BSNs! And I've heard the same thing about ADN students. They come out more prepared than students from pricier schools. But I'm glad that some CSU's like Sonoma State are in partnership with community colleges and make it possible for ADN students to get their BSN!
