I'm 23 and just recently graduated from my university with a B.A in English. I want to go back to school to be a RN but cannot afford it. I will call the officer recruiter on Monday but while I prepare, could those experienced guide me in the right direction so that I won't be bullshited at the recruiter's office?
What are my choices?

Your options are going to be fairly limited with BA in English. I am not sure which branch would take BA in English for officer training, but afterwards you would be eligible for MGIB and tution assistance. The only other option would be to go in as an enlisted if you are looking for the military to pay for nursing school.
What may be a better choice is the costep programs through USPHS. http://www.usphs.gov/student/ There is info session on Dec 29, 2009 that you might want to look into.
You can also look into IHS. http://www.ihs.gov/index.cfm?module=Jobs IHS has both loan repayment and scholarship opportunities.
Also, most of the services offer loan repayment for nurses.
Hope this helps some.
