Does your program have an alumni base? Someone who has gone through the program you are in may be able to talk to you frequently regarding how things work within your program.
Many schools have this so that students can develop a support system with alumni and sometimes it's a support system of students 1 year ahead of you, so that they can remember it most vividly. Inquire from your school's professors, or tutoring department - they would be able to direct you to a buddy-support system if there is one available.
Best of luck in your studies!
We don't have an alumini base here but as a pre-nursing student right now we are assigned advisors to watch over use throughout our whole school year. It's an great advantage though I love them!
I am a senior nursing student finishing my BSN. And have no intentions of pursuing L&D after graduation.
If you are looking for advice for school, you school advisors are your best bet. During the nursing program, previous students are your best resource - as every school does this slightly differently. (Even at the same school, every instructor is slightly different than the next)
If you are unable to reach out to your nursing alumni, ask around during clinical rotations (particularly when you are at hospitals that you are interested in working at). Chances are you will meet current nurses who are alumni of your school and can give you advice.
You don't specify what you plan to do with your Masters that you are aiming for - education or ARNP? Are you particularly interested in L&D? Do you plan on doing ARNP in L&D? Have you checked your state's practice act to see the scope of ARNP's in the setting? For instance, are they required to work under direct supervision of an MD or are they capable of working independently?

As a pre-nursing student, they may not be releasing the alumni information to you yet. Some schools put you in contact with them later. If not, try Facebook and see if there is a page with students from the school you attend you could ask and speak to regarding your weekly advising needs.
