Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello everyone, I wanted to start this topic because I was unable to find anything on this program and want to share my experience! I applied to the fall 2022 start date for the ADN program at CFK in mid June. I met the requirements and was able to get an interview for the program, roughly a week later I was accepted. I'll be starting Aug 19th so if anyone has been through the program, starting the program or is interested in the program please share your experiences and questions!!

Hey there! How are you enjoying the nursing program so far? Can I ask what kind of stats you had on your TEAS? I have all the prereqs and coreqs done for the program and applied for Spring of 2023. How soon did they respond after the application deadline? Thanks for your time, and I hope your semester is going well!

Hello! I’m in my third week and it’s been a lot at the beginning, however totally doable. They actually dropped their TEAS requirements so you don’t even need to take it. I remember I got an invitation a week after applying and got my results a week after the interview. I also applied in the last week you could apply. I will say they had 20 spots open in the the lower keys and there’s only 11 of us in the cohort… I don’t think a lot of people know about the school so it’s easy to get in. Feel free to ask about anything else!

You rock! Thanks for the quick response. Right on that's good to hear. What's the living situation like? I've been leaning towards the lower keys as the campus housing is there and I hear its tough to find a room or apartment at a decent price.

Hey, yeah that’s the toughest part about going to school here. I found a room for rent through facebook groups (key west cribs) but it’s not cheap. I’ve heard awful things about the dorms so I wouldn’t even bother there. I’m not sure about the situation with the upper keys location. I actually ended up selling my vehicle and buying an E bike to get around the island which has been great plus no car payment. If you do end up applying (you’ll most likely get in) feel free to hit me up ??

Got a interview for next week! Wish me luck. Any questions or anything important I should know for it?

It’s was pretty basic nursing school interview questions. I just googled them and I feel like that prepared me. I wrote down a lot of the points I wanted to make during the interview. A lot of it was like “ why do you want to be a nurse other than caring for people?” “Why should we pick you?” When did you know you wanted to go into nursing?” “How will you overcome the workload to succeed?” It was a group interview so it was a little intimidating but overall the interview was very relaxed. Tbh there were 20 spots open in both the lower and upper keys. Only 11 applied to the lower keys ?

Hey man! Just checking in, How is the nursing semester going so far?
Looks like I got accepted for Spring of 2023, but also got offer letters for couple other schools in couple other states. I'm about to make a decision tomorrow morning, How do you like your lifestyle in the keys so far? Do you feel like the weather and the education your getting is solid and setting you up for success?

Hey, so my semester is going pretty good. I will say the lifestyle here is pretty great, although you’ll be super busy with school. It’s a small island so it times to get used to. Some professors are better than others, overall I feel that you need to be able to be independent and not rely on your professor. The school has a good NCLEX pass rate so they are doing something right. Lmk if you have any more questions

Right on, I do have a few more questions, are you on facebook by any chance?

Yup! Colby Bingham-Brasher feel free to message me

Hey there, it's been a year, hows it going? May I ask if their curriculum uses Elsevier, HESI Exit or ATI? What are your overall thoughts of this program.

Thanks,
