Hi everyone! I just wanted to start a new thread for anyone applying to COC for the Spring 2020 term so we can share stats and info during the admission process. This will be my second time applying to the program so if you have any questions I’m happy to try answer any questions you might have about my experience from applying for the Fall 2019 term. Anyways, welcome and I’m excited to hear from you guys!

Thanks for starting this thread! If you don't mind sharing, what was your experience applying for the Fall 2019 term. Why are you applying a second time around?

The overall application process is really simple as far as what you have to submit, the only thing I would say could improve is the communication regarding status updates. I’m reapplying because I had roughly 68 points or so and unfortunately it was below the waitlist cut off. This time I will be applying with a clinical job on my application so that will give me a few extra points on my app.

COC's application process is very smooth and I felt very in the loop. They were delayed with the notifications for this last round because they had an extremely high number of applicants. I felt very confident and did not make the cut, a few friends with 4.0 in the sciences, healthcare experience etc. (stats that seem it would have made it) still didn't even make the cut. It was rough, hoping for better luck for myself and others this next time around! Good luck!

Hello I am in the process of applying to the RN program at COC and just got back that I am eligible to continue to apply when it opens August 1,2019. I’ve been trying to calculate my points but I’m having a hard time finding the page that will give me that information. I just applied to AVC for their RN program and unfortunately did not get in. Does anyone know how I can calculate my points?

Correspondence Timeline for Upcoming RN Application

Mid-Late September (9/15/19 - 9/3019)
status updates will be sent out via COC email.

Friday, October 4, 2019
ATI TEAS TEST DATE here at COC (invitation only) or deadline for official submission of ATI TEAS results first attempt only.

Mid-Late October (10/15/19 - 10/31/19)
Acceptances to the RN program will be sent via COC email

Friday, November 8, 2019
SAVE THE DATE If accepted, mandatory RN Student Orientation

Monday, December 2, 2019
Fall 2020 RN application cycle will open. Please follow the Nursing Program Application Checklist step-by-step.

Hi!

I highly recommend the yellow ATI TEAS Secrets book, I didn’t look at much else and I got a 91! For the actual test just take your time, they give you way more time than you need so (as cliche and unhelpful as this may sound) just try to relax and be confident! Good luck!

Hi everyone! I spoke to Julie Lutes yesterday and she said they received 480 applications this cycle .. invites are also in the current process of being sent out (9/15 - 9/30). She said if you’re invited, be prepared to take the TEAS on Friday, 10/04 @ 9AM (check in will be 8:30AM). Have any of you received an email? I’m still patiently waiting for my invite!!! I did however receive an invite from Moorpark to take it this coming Friday 9/27. Anyone else taking it then?

I also applied to COC. I still have not received and email from them. Glad someone started this page. I am anxiously waiting. Have not taken the TEAS yet.

I just called and they said they’re trying to finish sending out emails hopefully by today, if not tomorrow! Chancellor cut score is 70 to get invited to take the TEAS.
