Hello everyone!
I'm an almost 30 y/old military wife with 3 young boys and obviously a husband in the military. I have an athletic training degree and have been retaking some of my prereqs (A & P and Micro) due to the long period of time between my last courses and now!
At the moment we are in CA but we are moving to either Atlanta, GA or Jacksonville, NC by Summer 2007 so I've been exploring schools in both areas. I was looking at Coastal CC obviously because of the proximity to where we'd be living but also because I'm more interested in getting the AA first and then I'll do my bachelor's online. Is it a good school? What are the grades / NET scores / wait-list like for students in that program? Would you recommend any other schools in the area (they'd need to be close since I do need to be close to home!).
Thank you!!

I just finished the LPN program at Coastal in may. Yes it is a good school. What i did when i applied was i applied to both the LPN and RN programs. I got the letter that i was an alternate in the LPN program and that i had not gotten into the RN program. Then, maybe 1 week later i got a letter saying that i had been accepted into the LPN program. later i found out that most of the class had been alternates to start out. anyway, there is not really a wait list, your either in or not. They have a transition LPN-RN program which is a year long. The pass rate for the NCLEX at coastal for the RN program in 2005 was 91%, for LPN 100%. Other CC close to jacksonville is Craven CC which from my house out in town is about 30 min away. if you live on base it might be 45min-1hr away. James Sprunt CC which is probably the same distance away. if you have any other questions feel free to ask.

Its been a few months and I just joined the list. I graduated from Coastal in May. We had a 100% NCLEX pass rate this year! GOOD School! Believe me. But it ain't no cake walk either, so be prepared.
