I would highly recommend doula training! Not all midwives work in settings where they are doing much labor support, but many do, and it's a good foundation to have regardless. I'd also recommend the five day Certified Lactation Counselor program (if they're still doing it currently d/t COVID?) if you don't already have a strong foundation in lactation. Good luck!

Hey there! I am a labor and delivery nurse. I have 4 years of ER nursing with 1 year of L&D. I want to apply to CNM programs this fall (2021) but wanted to see if anyone had tips or ideas for boosting my resume/application to grad school. I have lots of ER extracurriculars, education etc, but not much for L+D. Any advice would be much appreciated, especially activities (doula training, classes, crisis pregnancy centers, etc) that have actually improved CNM school or midwifery career. Thanks!
