I know that many schools require you to get your CNA before you begin school, and I understand that this is because ADL's are just a fraction (of a fraction of a fraction) of the skills nurses need to know.
However, I have heard of a few people who were exempt from the lab that taught ADLs if they already had their CNA.
This is not even remotely a big deal to me, and certainly not why I got my CNA cert. I'm just wondering if this is common (and therefore something I would want to look into), or if the CNA-skills portion of nursing school is so minute that it doesn't even matter.
Thanks in advance.
