CNA training?

Published

I know that where I live, you can get training at the hospital. I was just wondering:

1. How long something like that takes

2. What you learn

3. How much it costs

4. How intense the training is and what you actually DO in training

5. If you have to work for the hospital after you are done training

6. And where else you can get training

I am starting my CNA training next week and I am going thru a vocational/adult ed. It cost me alittle more than 1200.00 and that included text book, supply and the test at the end, as well as a 3 hour practice session before the test. I will be going m-f from 8am to 1:30 for about a month. Since I have not started yet I can't really answer any of your other questions.

The facility I work for used to offer on the job training for CNA, but the nurse educator quit and they decided not to hire another one. My coworker told me she got her CNA from them and it took her about a month, which is about as much as a regular training course. I don't think it cost her anything. I think I paid around $150-200 for my class?
