Does anyone know of a CNA program in SE Michigan? I'm thinking of getting a CNA before I start my BSN in June.
Thanks,
Dave

Hi, Dave! I do not know of any specific programs. However, this is the website for the governmental agency in Michigan that is in charge of maintaining and certifying nursing assistants

you want to get in touch with them for a list of approved schools where you can get training. I wasn't able to find a listing of schools on their web site. I took a brief look at their FAQ's. You might want to do the same. Michigan has some unique rules.
Thanks Daytonite. Very helpful. One of the faq's says thataccording to federal law any licensed healthcare professional is ineligible to work as a CNA. Do you think this applies to all healthcare professions? I'm a chiropractor trying to change careers.
Yes! I noticed that question. I suppose the only way you'll know is to ask them, but it sounds like it probably does. My guess would be that this particular aspect of the law is designed to exclude people who lose their licenses due to malpractice of some sort and are trying to get back in to working with patients, wouldn't you think? Anyway, I'd ask their office just to be sure.
