Hello all. I'm a pre-nursing student at the moment, and I'm looking to make some extra money, and get a little healthcare experience, by working as a CNA on weekends. I work during the week and I really can not take a CNA course on weeknights. I found one place in Orlando that does CNA training on weekends. Does anyone know of any weekend CNA training places in Lakeland, or at least closer than Orlando? Will home healthcare agencies be willing to train me?

Check with your local Red Cross; they sometimes offer CNA classes.
Other than that, I only came up with this evening class:

Even if it isn't what you're looking for, give them a call. They might be able to tell you about other local programs.
Best of luck to you!

You can challenge the CNA class. Several students I am in school with at Keiser challenged having to take the class and went straight to take the test and passed. They all have their certifications and are working as CNA's at Holmes Regional in Melbourne
Thanks to both of you guys! You know, I thought about challenging the CNA test...I did some research online and, while I'm not claiming I'm a rocket scientist, I'm pretty sure that I could do it. I may just give it a shot. The worst that could happen is that I'd fail, and end up having to take a two-weekend course.
Yeah, plus you will be saving money not having to take the class.
GOOD LUCK
