Can anyone give me an idea of starting wages and shift differentials for hospitals in the St Pete / Tampa / Clearwater areas? I'm really interested in the Morton Plant group because they have a strong educational setup for moving into nursing, but would be interested in hearing about others as well.
I'm looking to make a career change, and I know I'm looking at a pretty substantial pay cut, but am wondering if I can make up some of the difference in OT / shift differentials by working overnights.
If you know of any of the starting wages for CNA work in the hospitals in this area, please let me know.
Thanks!

I know a tech who works at Plant.
She said that CNAs start at around 8.80/hr and PCTs might start at 11.00/hr or better, depending on their experience. She also said that some of her coworkers have started out as Nurse Helpers or Sitters, but I don't know how much they're paid.
