CNA/PCT Training

Hi All,

I have a couple questions. I recently just moved to Arlington, TX and looking for a CNA/PCT training program that is available in the evenings or on the weekend. I found one place, Tarrant County College but I am sure that there are more options out there. Can anyone make any suggestions?

I am a career change from Recruiting/Human Resources to my long life dream of being a Nurse, please help :-)

I went to Hearts In Training Dallas. I did a weekend class with them that lasted 5 weeks.

I know you asked this a while ago...but honestly, you dont need pct/cna training. Our hospital has hired MANY people that dont have a certificate. They can teach you everything you need on the job. The reasons we have PCTs is because they do not have CNA certificates...they are unlicensed techs that do the same job.

Just start applying for jobs and let them know you are planning on going to nursing school.

If you really want to take the class, DCCCD offers a class as well that is a month long or so. It is a "continuing education" class offered by the colleges.

Thanks 8mpg,

I appreciate the advise. I did sign up for a CNA training program that is a couple weeks long. Once I have that, then I will approach hospitals before attending nursing school. The PCT class was just too expensive and way to long and seemed like they were only after my money.

Thanks for all your help

This is awesome info, thanks!
