CNA before nursing school

I have just recently started thinking about becoming an RN. Before I try to get into nursing school, I thought it would be smart to become a CNA. Has anyone done this? If so any pointers?

I completed my CNA program December. I will be applying for the RN program ASAP! I say go for it. I love the experience I gained, along with the 5 points I will earn for having this certification.
