Anyone ever have a mutiny at their facility? One shift of CNAs against another? What did you do to stop it?

In my facility...The Cnas have a half hour shift overlay in which they must have a shift report with their charge nurse ... followed with a cna off going/oncoming rounds and personal report. This allows the resident/client to be the focus.
Any problems are to be addressed at that time with each other. If a Cna complains about another shift... the first question I ask is why wasn't that addressed while you were doing your rounds.
If something is found after the other shift leaves, it is to be addressed the next day. If this doesn't resolve the problem...I ask the two parties to come to my office for some conflict resolution. This is working for me.

CNA complaints must go thru the supervisor. I have had to tell my CNA's that if they find something just fix it and then tell me. We cannot worry about another shift, we must attend to our own. Of course if there is specific worker who repeatedly does not do their job, the supervisor needs to confer with the other shift super. Shift wars have been going on since the beginning of time. It's part of the fabric of the biz.

I goes in cycles around my place. To be honest, it isn't really dealt with but dies down when the staff quits or gets fired. It would be nice if it was dealt with and team work is pushed instead of an us vs them.
Shift overlap and shift to shift report helps.
