CNA Membership, would you put it on your resume?

I was helping a friend with a resume and we were listing professional memberships. We wondered if anyone would list membership in the California Nurses Association on a resume or mention it during a job interview?

I was not sure of the answer. Would membership and support of a labor union be something a nurse would list on an employment application? Would you expect to get the job if others with equal qualifications submitted an application as well? Has this been asked before?
