I am a CMA (Cert. Medication Aide) and trying to choose between 2 job options. My husband and I are in the process of building a house and he will start LPN school around September and I will start around April (it's self paced). We have long term goals of getting our DNP's.

Job A: My current job which is a double weekend, no Baylor position. I've been here since Jan. 3rd. Good environment with plenty of time to study while I'm in school. It is 3 minutes away from my house.

Job B: I've worked at this facility since April 2008. Position is double weekends with Baylor. I would earn $300 more a month here. Currently I work here prn and have secured 2 8 hour days a week but this position has came open. I used to work Baylor weekends as a CNA here and left when I got my CMA. My husband has worked here for 3 years as a double weekend CNA so we can commute together.

Why am I having trouble deciding? Because I have not worked the hall at Job B the position is for and I'm not sure what the environment would be like. My husband just got a PT job at my current job (Job A) so I also don't want to burn any bridges here.

Help!

What is Baylor? Aside from not knowing what that means, it sounds like you have 2 good options so go with your gut! Good luck!!

:D hi there!

looking at both options i would say go with job (a)...the highlight of it was when you said "will have time to study"...ok with job (b) yeah you will make $300.00 more, but think about when you're done with school, you will make that and much more. i don't know about you, i'm a multi-tasked person but its hard trying to work and go to school and with the current job i have now, i would love to be able to study while i'm working! its just my two :twocents:s..! keep us posted and good luck!
