Update on my CNA recertification.

  1. As some of you know, I posted here about recertifying my CNA in Illinois. I did get my packet from the state, have mailed off the background check form, and last night had the skills examination. I passed. I was nervous, then not nervous, then nervous, then not nervous. Yeah, it was pretty crazy. Anyway, I have to mail my form from passing and the background check back to the healthcare worker registry, then they send me a form I have to send to SIU to take the written exam, which I will take some time in July. So, I'm getting there.

Can anybody tell me how the written exam compared to the practice exam on the nurse aide testing website? I only missed 1 on it last time I took it. I've taken it a few times and it doesn't seem that hard. I just wonder how it compares to the actual written exam. Thanks!

I took the practice test too & only missed one. But when the actual test came, I did notice quite a few of the practice questions were on there. Then a couple that I had never seen before (maybe they were part of the 10 that don't count?). All in all, if you do well on the practice test, than I think you'll be fine for the real thing good luck
