I,ve applied to numerous of job and only was able to obtained 3 interviews 1 of which wasn't medical assistant related at all. Unfortunately, I didn't get hired on either☹️. Concorde hasn't help at all with job placement. Most of employers want you to have experience and I only have a 5 week externship. I've completely forgotten all my skills such as order of blood draw and ect. Only thing I remember is my medical terminology. I will be going back to school for Cna next week, which is what I originally planned to do. However , I was listening to the wrong people and decided to go the medical assistant route. I have worked as a server,Walmart,Jcpenny and a warehouse job since graduating. I know my potential and feel like I'm better than those jobs. My passion is healthcare and that's where I want to be. My question is do you think obtaining a Cna license will get my foot in door? I've seen countless of open Cna positions in my area. The program I'm enrolled in is only 4 weeks and the tuition is just $500.

Where do you live? I see these comments a lot about not being able to find medical assistant jobs. I'm starting the program next week bc that's all I see on the job boards! I guess it depends on your area. CNA's are in demand here also. I think $500 is a good price. My MA program is $1,999.00 at the local community college. I think the CNA is $695.00

I would watch the indeed (internet job board) job board in your area and see what's in demand. I also have the local hospital job pages set on my home screen and check them daily to see what jobs are being posted and what experience they want. I know some get hired as a unit clerk if they have CNA experience and also we have a local dialysis clinic here that's hires CNA's and PCT.

hope this helps!

I live in Tennessee in there are tons of CNA jobs that are in my area in good facilities. Such as St.jude children's hospital and ect. I guess it's a regional thing. $1.999.00 is a good price also. Way better than $16,000. I apply to indeed.com postings often and always get these. (" Thank you for applying with our company, However, after careful consideration, the position has been filled.") Type of emails. I wish I would of did a little more research before enrolling at Concorde ☹️ I hope you have better luck with your program and thanks for your input.

One more thing I want to mention. The best jobs are never advertised. I've gotten more interviews by mailing my resume out to the hiring person then I ever did trying to compete with 100 other ppl on indeed.

I have vet tech experience so when I was in the field I would put a nice resume together and put it in a big envelope and mail it out and address it directly to the vet. Hand written on the envelope. Ppl will always open it if they think it could be important and personally. I got a lot of interviews this way. So, maybe try finding a doctor you want to work for and sending him/her your resume in a hand written envelope. It's worth a try and I think it shows the dr you really took the time and your very interested. Be sure and add a cover letter to your resume stating why you want to work for him/her. This has always worked well for me. I can not compete with 100 other applicants bc there's no way they have even looked at that many resumes. Who has the time. Even if the dr have no ad on the job boards I've gotten interviews so show them you are going the extra mile and stand out from everyone else! It can't hurt to try. Send out about five at a time. Each one personalized to fit that doctor. Good luck!!

Find out the big healthcare providers in your are. Often they have consolidated postings on their website. Apply to as many as you can. Often HR will take notice.

It may not get you your dream job, but showing an interest in any position with the organization could help. They will probably send you where they think you can help the most. Most allow you to transfer after a period of time though if you want to move elsewhere.

Best advice I can give. It worked for me in a very good way landing my current job, and I happened to get a call from my top organizational choice. Albeit not my first facility choice, but I enjoy where they placed me.

In my albeit small experience often HR starts the hiring process for multiple facilities. I know this because I spammed a few orginizations with applications at multiple facilities, and when I got hired the hr manager mentioned it. I told her I really wanted to work for that orginization which was true.

Now hr wasn't the only one who approved my hire. My interview was with the current don. You will have to pass the interview process with whoever the relevant manager is at that facility. But you can't do that if you can't get an interview. Getting human resources to notice you can get your foot in the door for that interview.

Good Luck!!!
