I took my exam friday and I found out today that I am offically a NYC CNA !!!!!!!! I am so excited the wait was killing me. This is my first step cna Im doing my pct classes now and my pre reqs to get into nursing school. YAYYYY :) :)

Specializes in CNA.

My skills were dressing a patient, ROM Lower, and Pulse and respiration :) Three great and easy skills!

I got the certificate today! I finally passed the clinical part! I passed the written part on the first try, but I failed the clinical part because I was so nervous, so I screwed up. The 2nd time, I got:

Handwashing, denture care, mouth care, and transferring from bed to wheelchair.

I made some minor mistakes and I still passed!

Took my skills on Wednesday after failing the first one about three months ago. I don't feel very confident but lets seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...........I called up the CNA office and they told me that I have to wait 5 to 10 days for results...sucks because I need to pass it by the end of next week...pray for me guys

If you think you only made minor mistake then you'll pass! I made a few minor mistake! Not just 1 or 2 mistake.. more than that. I still passed.. if you make just one major mistake = FAIL..

Passed written and skills first try one week ago Saturday!! It was intense. Out of 14 people, 7 passed and 7 failed. phew!

You got the EASY skills! Not fair!:lol2: Anyhow Mirela, congrats to you and hope you continue with your nursing career because you are young and already have your "foot in the door"!! Trust me, I'm over twice your age and if I could start all over, I definitely would have aquired my education many, many years ago.

Best of luck!:nurse:

Thank you so much!

Hi everyone. Former lurker, finally coming out to interact. I successfully challenged the NC exam and was pretty happy about it. It will get me in the door at some places (most don't ask if or where I took the course) but if I can ever get a cheap seat I'm definitely going to backtrack and take NA I anyway.

I don't remember if I posted here or not but I passed mine on August 13 in NC. I started my in home aide job yesterday and I LOVE it!

Passed my Nebraska state exam yesterday! :)

My skills were:

1. Beginning and Ending 5

2. Hand washing

3. Blood Pressure

4. Routine Oral Hygiene

5. Catheter Care

6. Moving Up in Bed (One Assist)

7. Changing an Incontinent Brief (and she had squirted Hershey "poo" all over the bed and gown so I had to change those too while I was at it...:uhoh3:)

But I passed! One more thing checked off for nursing school. :nurse:

(ETA: Whoa, looks like NE makes us do way more skills than some of you! I'm jealous. Everyone in the class had to do the first 2 on my list and then we all got 5 more random ones to do.)
