CNA to LPN to BSN

Nursing Students LPN/LVN Students

Published

Good morning everyone!

Tomorrow morning I am going to take my TB skin test so that I can (hopefully) get enrolled for a CNA course. I also plan on taking my TEAS Exam within the next month. For the practical nursing program I hope to get accepted into I need to pass with a 70% in reading and a 44% in math to get on the waiting list. I realize that when I transfer into a LPN to BSN program I'll need to retake it and get good scores in all subject areas. I'm a little nervous still. I'm not very good at math. Can anyone who's taken it let me know their opinions if a 44 is difficult to score in the math portion? This particular LPN program is self paced. You have to be able to attend class 24 hours a week. So hopefully I can find a employer as a CNA that will let me work 3 twelve hour shifts. Can anyone who has completed or is currently enrolled in a self paced LPN/ADN/BSN/etc. program let me know how it works and what I can expect?

Thanks in advance for your responses!

I passed my TEAS exam everyone. :) Thank you so much for the encouraging words and believing in me! I am so excited. Once I get a tetorifice shot and another TB skin test I will officially be on the LPN waiting list! I will be taking an accelerated CNA class in about 2 weeks so that I can hopefully find a job that will allow me to start getting experience and give me a better availability to attend the 24 hour a week minimum requirement. That class will be over the first or second week of October. The school said to call them after I finish the CNA course because they plan on starting some students in October and November. Meaning that the waiting list might not be as long and if that's the case they suggested waiting and not starting the link program. If it's still 4-6 months at the time my CNA course is over I think I am still going to go ahead and enroll in the link program.

@JosiahMama I sent you a message a few days ago letting you know I passed! Would it be okay to stay in contact with you? I felt comforted knowing someone was going to the same school I am. :)

Hey! I don't know if you ever got my message. I'll be back and starting hopefully by January. I need to call and see where I am on the waiting list (to determine if I'll still do the link) I'd love if we stayed in touch

Hey! I got your message saying you moved? Have you come back to Oklahoma? If so you should be starting with the next class! I took the TEAS in August and they just started a class this month and are starting one next month. The counselor said after that class starts I'll be #6 on the wait list. Meaning I should start with the next class. She doesn't know when that will be but said most likely not before January. I'm in my last week of the fast track CNA course at Canadian Valley and I'm leaning more towards not enrolling in the link.

Hey! I thought i messaged you back. I had also did the teas test in August And I was number 4 on the list. I had decided to wait and I'm glad I did bc if all goes well I'll be starting next month.

The school called me Monday! I start February 1st! Have you heard anything yet?
