cna looking for some advice in south florida

Published

Hello Everyone

Im a cna who just moved to south Florida from pa .I have been certified in pa for 18 years.

I switched my certification to Florida but so far no luck finding a employer .Also things are a lot different here.In pa your employer gives you your medical clearance and ppd test .so what i need to know is where can i get these from in florida low cost .Iv been here looking for work with on luck (MOVED HERE IN OCT.2012 ) .so any help or advice anyone can give i would be so grateful . If anyone knows of any nursing home ( snf ) OR hospitals looking for cna s that would give me a chance please let me know.

thanks all

Not sure where in South Florida you are. I started out as a CNA and worked my way up. I have only had 2 employer's but each one of them did my PPD and clearance. If you contact your previous employer you should be able to get a copy of your employee health record with all your information on PPDs and immunizations.

Again, not knowing where in South Florida you are. Some hospitals do use CNA's and they will train them up. You still keep your CNA, but you learn more and are able to do more things to help you grow and work your way up the ladder if you want to. Other wise, it's going to be Home Health, Nursing Homes, Rehabs and Skilled.

If I were you, I would get a copy of my employee health records and write myself up a awesome resume and start filling out ever application I could until my finger's bleed. Ok, maybe not the last part.

I hope this helps and I wish you the best of luck.
