Yes, You can contact the Native American Community Services. Tell them you are a displaced worker and would like to receive free CNA training.
The agency that provides the actual CNA training is called Perrfect Nursing. The classes are Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, from 6pm -10pm and Sat 8am - 4:30pm. The course is 6-weeks long and you receive 3-credits from CSN and your Certificate is from CSN. You will be able to take the State Board exam when you fininsh.
Hope this helps.

I am planning to move to Las Vegas and go back to school.. I was just wondering if that information worked for you? Was it totally free? And have you found a job yet?

I went to Purrfect Nursing. The course is 6-weeks, Fast-Track program, it is accredited by CSN and you get your Certificate from the College. The cost was around $1,300.00. I Passed my State Board with no problem, ( Excellent teachers ). I have been working in a Hospital as a volunteer ( to get familiar with the Hospitals, but no direct patient care when your a volunteer ) I am also working in an LTAC. NO problem finding work. I am getting ready to take the LPN program and CSN.. after I finish the LPN program I will work it for a couple of years while I finish my RN. The information I gave about the free course was courtesy from several students who were enrolled in the program with me. I did call recently and they are overwhelmed with applicants, so you may have to pay out of pocket, but it is well worth it. Did I also mention you get College credits from CSN for taking the FastTrack program.

Hi, I was wondering if you know if the cost for Purrfect Nursing's CNA program is all-inclusive? Does it include TB tests, CPR, etc?? Or do those have to be completed before you start in addition to the $1,300 you pay??? Thanks!!
Jerad
TB tests, physical, and BLS (CPR for Health Care Provider/First Aid)are part of the tuition. You are loaned a book for the duration of the course (do NOT write in or rip pages in the book).

I think I used my out-of-pocket expenses only on a white scrub, a pair of white shoes and the board exam fees. Other costs are all included in the tuition as Jerad said. I am not sure what the current tuition rate is, but it was $1195 for NV residents a year ago.
Thank you!!! Did you enjoy the class? Was it worth it? It seems to me the cost is comparable to taking it at CSN, don't you think?
I did enjoy the class, and it was completely worth it. I haven't compared costs between Purrfect Nursing and CSN. However, the class being over quickly was completely worth it to me. You cannot be late or absent at all through the duration of the course, or you will be dropped without refund. Just a head's up.
