Cna hourly wages/nursing home?

Nursing Students CNA/MA

Published

Hello everyone!

I was just wondering how much do you earn as a CNA working in a nursing home?

I want to start applying and work until I finish nursing school but I want to know what I should expect/ask for when I get asked.

I found a position for 11.50. Is this reasonable? Should I keep searching?

Personally I think its okay but I don't know what I should be looking for....

THANK YOU

Were I live starting pay varies from $9.50-$16/hour depending on type of work and location. (Hospitals pay a lot more than SNF, suburbs pay less than in the city). I started at $11/hour so an offer of $11.50 seems reasonable to me.

In Nebraska (Omaha area) it seems the typical start for a new CNA is $10-11/hour. I will be starting at $11.75 for overnight work in LTC. I'm originally from New Jersey and my CNA/Nursing Student friends started around $15/hour (acute care/PCT) in North Jersey. As you can see, it really varies by region!
