CNA grads, i need your help! I graduated as a CNA back in November of 2009 and i ended up giving birth a month later! i haven't worked ever since then! do you guys think im going to have trouble getting hired since i didn't start working right away, and its been a year and 5 months since i graduated?

Specializes in 6 yrs LTC, 1 yr MedSurg, Wound Care.

No, but I would suggest you apply at a LTC facility. When I got hired they didn't even know when I graduated, but I told them I was a new CNA. I didn't work for 11 months after I got my certification. Most places will just be happy to have the help.

Good luck! CNAs are needed!!

Agree with the previous poster. Try to work in a LTC area. After you have some experience, if you want to, go for acute care. Most places will jump on you! You learn most of your stuff "on the job".
