I want to know what is 3rd shift like at an assisted living facility. I would be working from 11 to 7am. I haven't officially had my interview yet I will tomorrow. But would like to know any tips or advice before hand. I am very shy and get very nervous so I'm just scared I wont know what to do on the job or how to. Also I have 5 children and a fiance. Do you think at he interview I should mention the fact that I would have to leaving the job by at least 6:30 am. So you think it would be an issue or should I offer to come in an hour before so I can leave and hour or so before my shift ends. This will be the same with all shifts. In fact this is prob the best tike I will have available. Just don't want to sound like an ass the first day I'm interviewing but my family comes first.

I'm new as well but, if this is a state-funded facility, I don't think it would be a good idea to either mention or expect to leave early, or come in early, at least in most LTC/AL facilities.
At my new workplace, which is state-funded, they have overlapping shifts; 7 - 3:30, 3 - 11:30, and 11 - 7:30. There must be a CNA assigned to each group of residents at any given time. Therefore, coming in and leaving early would not provide this coverage, which I believe is state-mandated at most facilities.
It might be different at private facilities that are not funded by the state. Home care can be more flexible, depending on the client. If you are applying to a privately-funded facility, I would say to wait till they call back after the interview to discuss your availability, unless you are asked outright during the interview. If all else fails, you may want to look into private ALF or home care.
Sorry, I don't know anything about the third shift. I am also interested in seeing replies to your post for these answers.

You probably need to look at being a home health aide instead. Most facilities are not going to let you come in or leave at a time convenient for you. In fact, there would be times you wouldn't be able to leave at 0630 because the next shift could be running late or they called in. If there isn't someone available to come in after you, you are essentially mandated to stay until someone does come in to take over.
