Hi everyone! I'm not yet in nursing school (still working on the prerequisites) but I was wondering if it would help to take a course in either ekg/phlebotomy or CNA. I was thinking it might look good on my resume but are there jobs out there for a cna or phlebotomist? Which would give me better nursing experience?
Thanks!

Anyway way is beneficial! Im in nursing school now and wish I had chosen to go through CNA courses or phlebotomy first. Not because of the skill set, but because many hospitals will more likely hire you as a nurse after you have been working there for a year or so. That is how it is around here, anyway. Or even EMT but thats a lot of devotion ! EMT school is a lot of hours. CNAs you get familiar with a floor and when you graduate they sometimes offer you a job, phlebotomy you are floating around so you get to experience different areas and you can find where you think you will fit. EKG you get familiar with cardiac and critical care. Either way... if it is not too much with your prerequisites, I recommend it.
A lot of hospitals also have "Nursing Assistant II" which are nursing assistants, but a lot of the times they can perform phlebotomy and EKGs. .they just have extra skills that CNAs do not.
