i am a sophomore, will be a junior after this semester psychology major planning on getting a lcsw...
however, i would love to earn my cna certification in order to work in a hospital on a psychiatric ward, if possible. however, i have no idea how to go about that, or if it is even possible with me not having any nursing knowledge at all.
i attend valdosta state university and cannot find that they have a program. i know that valdosta technical college has a health assistant degree program- not sure if that is the same thing? i could also do it at southwest georgia technical college if they offered it.

so- anywhere in valdosta, georgia or valdosta, georgia.

The nursing homes and long-term care facilities in my area typically have a mental health ward where all the patients with mental health issues are kept in their own hallway and I know they use nurse aides there all the time - hopefully your area is the same!
I worked as a nurse aide at a hospital after completing that course and although it was just med/surg, we had a fair amount of psychiatric patients come through so you could get some experience there as well.
