Cna background checks for work?

That makes me so nervous. Just the way they talk about it, they make it seem like they go through your whole life. I left out that I worked at Mcdonald's for 3 months on my application, would something like that prevent me from getting hired? I got called in for a third interview, and this one I believe they do the background and drug test, not worried about the drug test, but I am worried about the background.

Background check is to see if you have been arrested/convicted, are an excluded person on the Medicare list, any lawsuits, maybe a credit check. That's pretty much it.

As the previous poster said, the McDonald's thing probably won't come up or be a problem.

But there is something to be learned in this situation. It is almost never a good idea to lie on an application. If a lie is found, it usually eliminates you from consideration ... or if you have already been hired and it is found later, it can lead to your termination. So lying is very risky. So the question becomes, were there any question on the application that you actually lied on? For example, if the application asked you to list all of your previous employers in the last 3 years and you left one out, that might be considered a lie -- particularly if you signed a statement saying that everything in the application was anwered to the best of your ability and/or recollection. But if the application was phrased in such a way that you never actually lied, then omitting it was less risky.

In the future, include it unless you have thought through all the possible consequences completely.

I also want to say that people have been fired for lying on a resume after it's been found out. You might want to tell them you forgot about McDonalds just to be on the safe side.

I saw your first msg and actually did call them and tell them, I told them that since I worked there for such a short time, and it was actually a 2nd job, I didn't have room for it on my application. They said it wouldn't be a problem.

That's good to know. I think if a place fires someone because they left something off of a resume they were looking for some reason to begin with.
