Hello!
Im currently a CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) i have been for about 3 years. i went to ECPI to get my associates in medical assisting (DO NOT GO TO ECPI!!!).. currently I'm attending NOVA to pursue nursing. I've been stalking this site for about 2 months and finally decided to join lol. My question is upon reading anything On NOVAs nursing program it pretty much comes down to you have to have straight As and have a 100 or close to it On the math section of the TEAS..its pretty crazy how unorganized this program is..Long story short i was hoping you could use work experience to see if you have better chance at getting accepted into the program..and from all the forums I've read theres nothing set in stone as to what you need to do get accepted.
Also for those of you who didn't get accepted into the program what is your plan B? because i heard Mason also gives you the run around and require a bunch of other unnecessary classes and their NCLEX rate isn't that good.
Honestly just trying to get as much information as possible to prepare myself for the application process..anything is useful!
Thank you!!

I'm am applying this January to NOVA nursing. From what I've heard it is even more competetive than going to Mason or VCU as the cost is way cheaper. I know two gals who applied to NOVA. One of them got in from the third try!, yes she applied three years in a row before she got in, her GPA was 3.79. Another gal applied to NOVA and Mason in the same year, got into Mason but was rejected at NOVA. Also, NOVA raised their minimum score for Admission Test. Before it was 75% passing, now it is 88% passing, if I'm not mistaken. In all honesty, I don't know what my chances are. My GPA is 3.75 and that's about all I can show. I have no medical experience whatsoever unilke you. I think you have pretty good chances considering you have CMA, and of course, your GPA must be at least 3.5.
Good luck!
3 times omg that's crazy! Have you taken your TEAS test yet? What were scores if you don't mind me asking? Good luck to you with applying !
