  1. I'm applying to VCU and NOVA nursing programs in January. Currently, I have 3.75 GPA and 4 W's on my record. I'm really worried those W's will screw me over. Unfortunately, there is no chance in explaining my withdrawals since NOVA has no essay portion, and VCU only wants you to include specific details in the essay. I'm wondering if any of you are in the nursing school and got admitted with W's. Thanks
  2. I hate to say it but 3.0 GPA won't be competetive enough for you to apply to many nursing programs. Think about it, you'll be competing with people who apply with GPA range 3.5-4.0. If nursing is something you absolutely want to do, you need to retake your courses (especially, pre-reqs) in order to raise your GPA significantly. Wish you luck!
  3. I'm am applying this January to NOVA nursing. From what I've heard it is even more competetive than going to Mason or VCU as the cost is way cheaper. I know two gals who applied to NOVA. One of them got in from the third try!, yes she applied three years in a row before she got in, her GPA was 3.79. Another gal applied to NOVA and Mason in the same year, got into Mason but was rejected at NOVA. Also, NOVA raised their minimum score for Admission Test. Before it was 75% passing, now it is 88% passing, if I'm not mistaken. In all honesty, I don't know what my chances are. My GPA is 3.75 and that's about all I can show. I have no medical experience whatsoever unilke you. I think you have pretty good chances considering you have CMA, and of course, your GPA must be at least 3.5. Good luck!
