Do you mind if I ask, how come they closed? As far as I know, employers ask for a lot of documents from your school to process your application. I hope you have all your documents or your school will still be able to accommodate all your request for documents.
My school closed year 1997 and somes says that it was bec. of mismanagement, and that is my concern now ,what to do about it? what if the employer would ask documents direct from my school.do i have to informed them right away about the status of it. i really am confused ,that is why i still can't apply for NCLEX bec. i'm worried that it might be denied or something , so i'm asking anybody that could help ...May God bless you all...

Are you licensed in the Philippines? If so, then the licensing board has a complete record.
My school closed many years ago, and I can still get transcripts from there. This happens all over the world. There are always ways to get some type of documentation.
If you do not start the process, you are never going to find out.

hello poisonivy. have you checked your school's records in CHED? CHED has file records of students' transcripts, etc...and you can ask for a certification from CHED regarding your school's status.
If you took the local board exams in the past, PRC records section might still have a copy of your transcripts/RLE.
in CHED, you can seek the assistance of its office of student services or the legal affairs service or the regional office director in the region where your school was located. here's a link:
http://www.ched.gov.ph/aboutus/ched_off_dir.html i'm sure they will be able to help you. show them your copy of your school records and prepare also a letter of request for certification/verification of said records. CHED offers certification/authentication/verification of transcript and diploma -click here: http://www.ched.gov.ph/services/students/index.html
was the school located in a municipality in albay? there was a nursing/paramedic school there that was closed in 1997-98.
here's some info that might also help.
the CGFNS website has included this in the FAQ pages for visascreen/credentials evaluation service/certification program service:
"What do I do if my educational institution has closed?
ICHP only accepts certain documentation from source agencies (such as transcripts and validations of registration/ licensure). If your school has closed or no longer operates, you will need to contact the organization or agency authorized to hold documentation for that institution (such as a ministry of health or the national, provincial or state licensing authority in your country of education). If you are uncertain about where to go, call the ICHP Customer Service Department." http://www.cgfns.org/sections/faqs/visascreen.shtml
for CGFNS credentials verification service for new york:
"My school is closed, can I submit the required documents?
No. CGFNS will obtain the documents from school archives or the license authority. If documents are still unattainable, CGFNS will notify the New York State Education Department in Albany, NY and let them make the determination. CGFNS will never accept documents from an applicant as verifiable." http://www.cgfns.org/sections/faqs/cvs-ny.shtml#7
The application handbook/form also mention that if your school is closed, please contact the Ministry of Education and have them send CGFNS/ICHP a letter advising CGFNS/ICHP of that closing. check the forms/handbook. (take note: the letter/certification must be sent from CHED directly to CGFNS and not thru you or anyone else. so you need to inform CHED about this).
For employers, you need to inform them about your school's closure and show them a (1) certification from CHED about the said closure plus (2) a CHED certified copy of your school records and diploma. Always be ready to have a copy of said CHED certification attached to your resume/c.v. or to any application form/letter involving school records.
For the BON, i guess you also have to ask CHED to send certified copy of the records/diploma directly to the BON if so required by the rules of the BON (or maybe you can try to ask PRC records section).
what a relief ! thank you very much guys esp. to kiko88 and suzanne this is a big help for me ,:roll i can proceed now to my application, these is only what i'm waiting for,so a million thanx to you all and may the lord god blesses you with more knowledge, health and wealth...:redpinkhe
