clip board with or without calculator attached...which is better?

Published

Wondering from anyone who has had any clinicals if they recommended a clip board w/ or w/out the calc. attached. I was thinking I would pass on the attached and just use a pocket calc, since that is what I will most likely use in the field.

Any suggestions before I buy one?

Thanks-:twocents:

Mine has a calculator on it (VERY similar to THIS one) that I got at Walmart for $10. I have only used a calculator once but I still like to have one that is easily accessible on my clipboard - most of the time my pockets are so full of stuff that I don't even have room for a pocket calculator. I think it's personal preference. A lot of med stations have calculators, too.

I bought a nursemate clip board. it had a calculator and on the front and back of the clipboard was references that really came in handy. I really liked having the calculator it makes it alot easier!

I admit that having a calculator on my clipboard was handy...but not crucial as I also carried my PDA (which had a calculator) on me. If anything, I like my calculator clipboard not for the calculator, but because it also has lab values, notes, norms, etc. on it.
