I am in a 1 yr LPN program and we began class 3 weeks ago. Clinicals are starting on Monday and I am very nervous (and excited!) Does anyone have any advice or suggestions before the big day?

Use the clinicals as both learning and caring experience. Don't let a bad moment or single unintended mistake ruin your entire experience. Ask instructor question after the clinical day - anything you were confused about or anything.

My advice is to realize that you don't know everything and dont be afraid to tell your instructor/RN you don't know how to do something or are uncomfortable doing something. And don't stress...Lol easier said than done right?

My advice is to make the best use of your time. If you have any free time or spare time, ask your instructor if there are procedures/treatments going on that you can watch. Use every patient interaction as a chance to learn something, practice your assessment skills, or even do something as basic as work on your communication techniques. Clinicals only last so long, and then it is out into the big cold world. Learn as much as you possibly can!
Good luck!
