Hi everyone,
I got accepted to start the first year of my nursing associate at a community college this September, around the same time I was approved to join the military ( due to unforeseen circumstances, my acceptance in the military was delayed a year, hence the inopportune clash with the first semester of nursing. I wanted to complete reserve soldiers' basic training during the summer of the year I was doing my nursing prerequisite). I now have a decision to make:
1) Complete my associate, then join the army as a full time soldier while completing an online Bachelor program.
- This would only work if the online Bachelor classes doesn't require any face to face meet time or if it does, the class location is closes to where I am stationed ( not sure if that will work if I'm stationed overseas).
- Does the RN – BSN program have a clinical component?
2) Join the army as an active soldier (before starting my associate) and in the evening attend nursing school.
- Are there BSN programs in which one can select ONLY evening clinical ( i.e. no mandatory rotations between day and evening clinical)?
I have reach a pathway and I would like more information about clinical in both associate program before I make my choice.
Suggestions/thoughts are welcomed.
Thanks in advance.
