Clinical Sites in California

Nursing Students Western Governors

Updated:   Published

Does anyone know of any of the other clinical sites for in Southern California, other than Cedars Senai and Huntington Memorial? I know these are the big two, but when I've inquired about clinical sites from WGU, they just tell me there are several between Pasadena and Mission Viejo. I'm going to assume Pasadena is Huntington Memorial and Mission Viejo is possibly Mission Hospital? Anyone know of any others?

Hi Trixiehvl,

Yes, I am a current pre-licensure student at .

For the most part, I enjoy the program. There is no perfect nursing school or any school for that matter, so there are obviously things that may irk me. Which may not bother you at all or vice versa. What I can say is that this program was the best decision for me, my lifestyle and family. I do not regret my decision. You determine your success in the program. Online learning is not an easy way out- you really have to be dedicated and stay on top of the material and most importantly supplement the info/ask questions whenever needed.

The program is 2.5 years. It is more so an hybrid program. Theory is online. After you are accepted into the 2nd part of the program---You have labs/simulation monthly and a clinical intensive. I have another post on here that is pretty detailed on how that works in you just look up my post history.

Everyone is different, but I find that for the most part when I go to clinicals the info learned in theory kinda clicks in. The lightbulb goes off and I have an aha moment!

During the first 6 month prelicensure term. Almost all of your courses will be WGU objective exams- therefore you can take them at home using your webcam and a live proctor who will watch you take the exam. The first time can be a little nerve wracking, but honestly after that I totally forgot that anyone was watching and was able to focus 100% on my exam.

After you are admitted into the 2nd part of the program your exams will be a combination for ATI exams and WGU objective assessments. Basically, anything related to your clinicals will be an ATI exam.
