Clinical Nurse Educator Presentation

Published

Hello All,

I have a panel interview for a clinical nurse educator position at a local hospital coming up. The panel will consist of nurse educators and nurse leaders. During the interview, I will be asked to do a short (around 5-minutes) training/presentation on a topic of my choosing. I am kind of at a loss as to what to do. Does anyone have any suggestions? The position is for a Med/Surg educator position. Any help and pointers are greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Something on quality improvement (falls, cauti, restraints, etc.). Hospitals seem to love those topics.

Five whole minutes, huh? I sure hope you can have a thumb drive with a powerpoint loaded up and ready to go.

Is there any way that you can look up the stats on this hospital and see where their weak areas are? Infection control-ish topics are

usually a good idea.

I did mine on how to start an IV and I got the job. IMO The topic isn't as important as your delivery. They want to see that you are engaging and creative, not just a talking head.
