I second that. I work at the va now as a lpn on a med surg floor and its so many opportunities to learn. To hone skills. A few seconds ago from me typing this message i just put a iv in one of my patients.
I am doing clinicals at the VA right now and I really like it. All of the nurses and staff in the unit I am working in seem to really love working there and that makes it a really great environment for students...happy nurses are more willing to help students out than unhappy ones.
