CLC Proof of Residency

U.S.A. Illinois

Published

Hi. I am applying to the CLC nuring program for Spring and just want to know what kind of proof they need for residency. I have my drivers liscence and my bills but heard they are getting stricter on what they ask be provided and just want to make sure I have everything that's needed. I've waited long enough to start this program and don't want anything to delay it.

Thank you!!

Hmmmm...not sure! I believe all I provided was my license with my current address on it. I would think a bill in your name would be pretty sufficient as well. Maybe call the admissions office and see what they say? But I believe a license and mail should be sufficient!

I think Lori's right, and I totally agree with her suggestion to check with the admissions office. One thing I did when I applied is I carried my entire application packet directly to the Admissions office, and asked if someone could verify that I had everything that was required. The woman at the front desk gave me a bit of an attitude about that request, saying it would likely be a bit of a wait, and I said very sweetly "That's ok, I'll wait... this is too important to me". She gave the huge sigh, and carried off to another woman. This lady took literally 3 or 4 minutes, looked through everything, looked a couple of things up on the computer, and came over to me with a big smile and said "Yes, you're all set. Good luck!"

I cant' tell you how relieved I was to hear that, because I have heard horror stories from many people about how they submitted their app, only to find out after the deadline that they were missing a key component (i.e. highschool transcript, etc.)

Good luck, and let us know when you get in!!!

Thank you so much for the info. I'll definitely do that. :)

Hopefully I'll be hearing some good news in a month or two and will happily let you know :D

LOL...probably the same woman that gave me attitude when I submitted my transcripts for the 2nd time (they never got there the first time) and I said something along the lines of "so, you'll make sure these get where they need to go?" and she said "Ummm, I think I know how to do my job." and I said "well, someone doesn't because I submitted these when I first started in 2004! This was 2007!

I agree with Colleen...FOLLOW UP! Make sure they have everything, even if you requested things be sent to them, make sure they've got all of the things you need...even the informational meeting - I have known people who were not accepted in the initial group because they said they didn't do the informational meeting (required within 2 years) when they actually did! CYA is the best way!

BEST OF LUCK!!! I'll be rootin' for ya! Keep us posted!!! I'm always excited to hear someone else making it into the program!
