Clayton State University Spring 2018 Cohort

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello All,

I am applying for Clayton States Nursing Program for Spring 2018. I just took the Kaplan on the 6th and wanted to see who else is applying with me this semester! I made a 76 on the Kaplan and I have a 3.52 GPA. For anyone else who wants to join this forum on our journey to Nursing School this semester you're more than welcomed !!! Add your stats too !

@ slong I sure hope so.

It is going to be quite a mad dash to get all of the requirements done before December (immunizations, purchases, physical, etc.). I'm having a hard time being patient. Good luck everyone!

I'm sooo impatient! I'm taking it out by Christmas decor shopping! Haha. I hope we get letters by friday! Or else I'm worried they won't go out next week because of Thanksgiving.

Have you guys taken the BLS-CPR course? I just took it today. We are required to provide the certification before the admission

Yup. I've done everything except for background check. Since I was anticipating getting in last semester :(

@ Chelsea No. I haven't taken it yet. Where did you find that info? I would like to know what I need since there is not a lot of time.

@ Mnewland Do you remember what the requirements are?

Edited to add that I found the SON new admit checklist from last semester, so I guess all of that is basically the same for this semester.

Right, I had to get the chicken pox vaccine and it was expensive! And a few more vaccinations to be up to date. It wasn't too bad. The TB test has to be done within a certain time, but it'll be ok.

Hey Beth,

I was wondering if u can explain how you made such a high score on the Kaplan. I have taken it 3 times and made terrible scores in reading and English 🤷🏾*♀️ Any advise ?

@im_good I can't help too much because I just tend to be a good test taker. The fact that my mother was an English teacher and I read in my spare time helped me get 100 on the reading section. I looked up sample questions and studied my A&P notes the night before the test. I didn't buy any books, but I think for the reading section any SAT prep type of guide could be helpful. Maybe someone else who has the Kaplan book can tell you if it's worth it--if you haven't already used it. This quiz gave me some confidence too Would You Pass the Nursing School Entrance Exam? - Nursing Link

Hi TayM00 how did u prepare for the reading and English part of the exam ?

How did you do on Kaplan?

Hi, I plan on applying Fall 2018. And we seem to have similar credentials! I just wanted to know if you were accepted or not!
