HELLO!! I am very new to all this but I am looking forward to being a member. I am a nursing student who is currently enrolled in a nursing advocacy class. As part of my first assignment I have to register with a nursing chat room and get responses from the following question...
What does a professional relationship with a nurse mean and should a nurse become involved with a patient?
Any responses will be greatly apprieciated and helpfull!!
THANKS!!

Could you share with us your thoughts on the question from a nursing student's standpoint?
Being a nursing student it is continually repeated that any such behavior is unacceptable. I personally would never want to cross that boundary with a patient and think it is unprofessional. Despite the way I feel and what nursing students are taught I am sure it happens very often. Emotions are a hard thing to fight but being professional is part of your career.

"Should a nurse become involved with a patient" - in what manner? What kind of involvement are we discussing here? I think that question is kind of vague... ?
