Circulating Nurse... Stay in Room or Move between Rooms?

My VP of Nursing is curious about the role of Circulating Nurses at other hospitals.

Do they stay in the same room or move between rooms? Any details or benchmarks would be appreciated. What types of things do your circulationg nurses do? What is the through-put time? (This is the big question!!)

Thanks for any help.

I generally stay in one room for the whole day, but change from day to day. If my own cases are finished, I pull cases for the next day, stock idle rooms, or help out wherever I can be of assistance. Through-put (turnover?) is supposed to be 15 min, but that's usually dreaming...:D

Make sure she's not thinking that maybe one circulator can cover two rooms at one time.
