This is exciting news.
Now, New Scientis is not peer reviewed. It is a commercial News Service.
Because something is in print (anywhere) does not make it so.
For any study to be of value it must be duplicated.
Keep in mind when something is released to the press after only one study there is an agenda on the part of those relesing it. If you wil note the group that relesed this information holds a patten on MHCP.
It is exciting and I am very happy to learn of this. No study can prove anything. The term "significant" is a very misunderstood term in the non scientific community. Lets face it most RNs do not undrstand it.
It is too bad that a course in evaluationg reaserch is not offered at the ADN level.
It is good news and I will watch this. they did mention the primary source and I may fined the time to look up the study. That is a problem I do not like about news reports is that they do not provide the abstract up front for examination. If you want to see it you have to do some work.
