Hey! I'd say since you've already taken the time to make a pros and cons list, focus on what stands out the most in the pros column for you and your immediate goals. For the cons, make sure you've jotted down any deal breakers and stick to those - whatever you do don't compromise on them (leads to burn out QUICKLY). And having a buddy in nursing is always a plus (so you already have an insider give you the deets that the pretty website will not tell you- wink) !
Good luck with your decision! Come back and tell us what you decided.

Anyone have thoughts on UCSF Benioff Oakland Children's NICU vs Good Samaritan Hospital's NICU? I'm choosing between the two and below I've listed what I feel are the pros vs cons of both. Appreciate any advice!
UCSF CHO
PROS:
- level IV/regional, higher acuity and more to learn/grow
- in an area where I'd like to move to/be closer to friends
- have a good friend that works in the ER, she loves this hospital
CONS:
- Pay low $80s/hr
- four 8-hr evening shifts
- commute about 40-min to 1-hr one-way to and from work while I figure out if I can buy in the area vs rent a friends place that is rent controlled
Good Samaritan
PROS
- Three 12-hr night shifts (which I currently do already and don't mind)
- $86/hr
- level III + surgical specialty
- 20min away from where I live now (I own)
CONS
- HCA hospital 😕 not sure if NICU unit culture reflects the same HCA reputation?
