Hi, I'm currently studying sonography but am not enjoying it. I'm much more interested in becoming an RN but my program director suggested becoming a PA. I'm not sure which to choose now... The time it takes to get a Master's degree isn't a deterrent and the pay isn't the biggest factor either I just want to do something I love. I want to help patients and take care of them. I want someone involved and hands on. My biggest interest is working with babies either in the nursery, NICU or L&D. I can't tell how involved in hands on care PAs are aside from performing physicals and providing diagnoses. I've heard nurses have a lot of BS to put up with, too. Please help me make up my mind! I would love to hear from y'all.

pa and nurses are different in a way. i think PA follow the medical doctor kind of way of things and nurses have their own thing going on. Perhaps it's more of what kind of role do you want to be in?
