UPDATE: Changes: New Log In Requirement

Hi everyone!

Starting a thread for those of us who applied to CHOC's new grad program for their February 2026 cohort. Goodluck to everyone that applied! 

Has anyone heard back? I know for PICU they said they would reach out by the 30th but the NICU application said the 27th. I doubt they'll be calling over the weekend so I'm getting a little discouraged 😭

I'm pretty sure they're still going to be going thru applications this whole week since the application cycle just closed. they normally take a while to go thru all of them too, so I wouldn't get discouraged or anything yet! they probably will start reaching out start of next week or so! we just applied so let's not lose any hope yet LOL

Where did it say the 27th for NICU?

I remember seeing it on the listing that we'll hear back by 10/27 for NICU. But would they start reaching out this week? Did anyone's status change on the portal?

I just see the part about the 30th. I'm an external Candidate

I recently applied for a NICU position. I have an ADN and will be graduating with my BSN in January. I passed my NCLEX on May 21, 2024, and although I haven't been able to get into any NICU new grad programs yet, I'm still holding onto hope. Caring for fragile little ones has always been my dream, and I truly believe that with persistence and heart, the right opportunity will come at the right time. 💙👶

May I ask which units everyone else applied to? Let's stay hopeful together — I'll be praying and sending good thoughts for all of us. 💫

I applied to the PICU program! I had the chance to do my capstone at CHLA in the PICU and it solidified my dream of being a PICU nurse!

Wow, that's so inspiring! I didn't get to do my capstone in the PICU, but it's one of my dream units too. It's so nice to hear your story — wishing you all the best for your interview and the program! 💙

I enjoyed reading your post as well! I can tell that you will make an EXCEPTIONAL nicu RN that will give the highest quality of care to patients and families! Wishing you all the best as well, but I am sure you won't need it!
