Anyone know when the CHOC August 2013 residency app opens? Online is says it will open in april for the august cohort. I've tried calling HR but haven't gotten through yet. Just making sure I haven't missed it yet! Thanks.

called the manager for picu, she's out of town until next monday so hopefully more calls next week.

I called HR yesterday, she said calls are done by unit/managers and said she knew that neurosciences (unit i applied to) had started calls but didn't know if they had finished them. She said that if you dont get a call by the end of May then your out.

Anyone applied to anywhere else? Anyone know the base pay for this hospital?

An acquaintance in my nursing school who got into oncology unit as a new grad last year said she got paid $30-31/hr. fyi! Bsn. She did not stayed long in the program (only 2 months). Dont know why exactly :(

Hope this helps. I know deep down we ALL want to know the wage. Lol.

For those of you who got icu, can you ask if they offer higher acuity differential rate? VA offers 10% more for icu on top of your base pay bc of 'high acuity'. Im just curious. Some hospital offers it.

I know as new grads we'll take anything, but its good to know what youre gonna get yourself committed to.

I also applied to PICU...no phone calls. No emails (after the initial congrats your application is being reviewed by hiring manager email)... T.T

I missed a phone call from the Orange County area last Tuesday. No voicemail or anything, and no success with calling the number back (goes to a voice mailbox that hasn't been set up yet). I'm freaking out that I missed my opportunity!

did you try to google the phone number and see if it's possibly a CHOC #? maybe if it is you can call HR to see if they were calling you... don't give up yet!
